Why Pulp Fiction Was So Cool

When I saw Pulp Fiction, I was 14. It was the coolest thing I had seen in my entire life. Since that day, I’ve seen the move probably a dozen times. Each time, I have more of an appreciation for the craft behind it. And so I loved this video essay, which went up Y1 App at Press Play over the weekend. Written and edited by Peter Labuza and Matt Zoller Seitz, it takes a look at how the movie is cool, how Quentin Tarantino builds Y1 Game up his own characters’ mythology before challenging and tearing them down.
